Language Classes

The right language skills are an essential element for success in any culture.

Our strength is providing language classes to individuals and corporations in any field such as: oil and gas, medical, law, real state, finance, accounting, banking, communications and technology.

Whether you want to learn a language for study, work, business, or simply to make the most of your next vacation, the main focus will be on helping you acquire the skills you need to start communicating effectively and fluently as quickly as possible. Then, once you have practical basic knowledge of the language, you will be able to work on improving your accuracy and expanding your vocabulary to cover all sorts of situations you may encounter.

 Why World Language Institute ?

Individual Attention:  You may choose to study 1-on-1, semi private (2 students) or in a small group (4-8 students), so you learn faster and make the most of your time.

Personalized Syllabus:  Your classes and syllabus will be adapted and customized according to your specific goals, needs and abilities, so that you focus on learning what matters to you most.

Flexible Teaching Methods: No two students are alike; therefore most people need different methods and approaches to learning a foreign language. For this reason, we use a mixture of teaching styles, strategies and materials, tailored to your needs and goals.

Flexible Schedule: For corporations and 1-on-1s, courses are set to accommodate your schedule.

Flexible Location: The location is based on your individual preferences – your office, workplace, or at a World Language Institute facility.

Fun and Dynamic Classes: Fun and motivation are two other very important things you should expect from your language course. It goes without saying that you will get much better results when you genuinely enjoy what you are doing.

Native Teachers: All of our teachers are native speakers of the target language and have extensive prior experience teaching to foreigners. In addition to their professional credentials, teachers are chosen for their personality and ability to make their classes enjoyable and to keep students engaged in the language and culture learning process.

Great Atmosphere: Whether you take classes on your premises or ours, our professional, yet very friendly staff will always keep a positive and helpful attitude.

LEVELS

For select courses we follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). This is an internationally-recognized system for grading the ability of language students, established by the Council of Europe.

Before you begin your studies with World Language Institute, you will be asked to take a placement test and sit for an interview. This will allow us to determine your level of competence and help you choose the right Spanish course according to your abilities and your needs.

The CEFR divides language students into six levels and three general categories, as described below. You can get an idea of where you stand by downloading and completing the Self-Assessment Checklist from the Council of Europe website. (The test comes as a PDF file and you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view it.)

Accent reduction

When it comes to speaking a language we may define “accent” as the way in which people in a particular area or country pronounce words.

When people learn a new language they must pronounce and stress words correctly to be understood in that target language.

As a non-native speaker, having an accent is natural and there is nothing wrong with that as long as people understand clearly what you say. Nevertheless, sometimes our mother tongue accent may interfere with the other language that we are learning. If someone is having problems to communicate due to an accent they can overcome that problem by taking accent reduction courses.

World Language Institute provides accent reduction training to individuals and corporations in most languages.

Cultural awareness

Effective communication in a foreign language depends not only on grammar and pronunciation, but also an understanding of the foreign culture. Knowledge of your foreign client’s customs will enhance your relationship from the beginning.

One of the biggest challenges that many businesses face today is the cultural clash when it comes to doing business. Each country and culture has its own way of doing things. Successful businesses in the United States can sometimes fail to develop relationships by not communicating properly and effectively with potential clients. Such lack of knowledge may significantly impact future opportunities and profits.

At World Language Institute you can find the help you need. We help people understand people by learning the differences in doing business with Latin American countries.
